I'm now 19 pages into the cookbook I'm writing with my doctor, meaning that I've taken articles he's written and handouts from his office and organized them, retyped them (editing them while I type them), inserting explanatory phrases, Googling to learn word definitions in case something's not clear and I need to explain it, and writing a chapter on my own weight loss journey. About half of that was done tonight, and I'm totally wiped out.
However, I feel really good about my progress, and I put another X on my calendar.
From here on out, I will have probably another twenty pages of articles to rewrite, and then the rest of the book will be the recipes. Those are time-consuming, but not as brain-frying.
Thanks to those of you who have checked in - you sound like you're doing really well. I'm excited to hear from you each day and to cheer you on in your accomplishments.
Talk to you tomorrow!

Good job, Tristi! I only wrote 1.5 pages yesterday (needed two). But I had a lot of other stuff going on. Ditto today, but I'm still going to try and get 2.5 pages in.
Nice! So far this month, I've polished off the library books I needed to read for research, mapped out general a revision road map (for a certain class--consider this a reminder, Tristi!), gotten the idea for a new book (woot!), planned out the month in dinners and blog posts....
basically laying the groundwork so I can work on the edits I've set as my goal without interruption. I hope.
Now, to get on those edits. How is it I can love a book so much and can't wait to get up to my elbows into it—and then can't bear to open the file?
So, I didn't write yesterday, but that's okay. I thought about my story though and thinking about plot lines in my head should count as working on it ... right?
Tristi, you're a super star!
I didn't get much done yesterday, but I did sit down and work on my manuscript a little. So that earned me an X at least. Today I got my writing station cleaned up a bit, so hopefully that will help me get a bit more done today. Write on!
So far I've edited 13 chapters, but then I watched the videos of Dan Wells workshop on Story Structure (compliments of iwritenetworkning.ning.com)and realized I started my story in the wrong place. I'll be adding a new chapter one and editing it before the end of the month.
You're an inspiration to the rest of us, but don't wear yourself out.
